Steve Azar Concert – A Free Delta Soul Music Experience on August 5th
Join Greenwood CVB and country star Steve Azar on a musical journey through Delta Soul on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 7:30 PM. The Mississippi native and his band will take the stage on Howard St. in Downtown Greenwood following the 16th Annual Bikes, Blues & Bayous Bicycle Ride.

Born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi, Steve Azar was immersed in a rich musical heritage from an early age. Growing up, he was exposed to the diverse sounds of the Delta region, where blues, country, and rock intertwine to create a unique musical tapestry. This rich cultural backdrop laid the foundation for Azar’s musical development, shaping his distinctive style and fueling his passion for storytelling through music.
Azar’s influences range from iconic blues artists like Muddy Waters and B.B. King to country legends like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. These musical giants left an indelible mark on Azar, influencing his sound and helping him forge his own path as a singer-songwriter.
Steve Azar’s breakthrough came with the release of his debut album, “Heartbreak Town,” in 1996. The album garnered critical acclaim and introduced the world to Azar’s raw talent and moving songwriting abilities. His heartfelt ballads and infectious up-tempo tracks resonated with audiences, earning him an instantly dedicated fan base. One of Azar’s most notable hits, “I Don’t Have to Be Me (‘Til Monday),” climbed the charts and became a fan favorite.
